I practically grew up with a fly rod in hand. A resident of Montana since 1975, I have spent a considerable amount of time – upwards of two hundred days some years – chasing trout. As a natural evolution of this passion, I worked for nine years as a fishing guide on the many world-class trout waters of southwest and south central Montana, and have ventured to Alaska, Canada and saltwater destinations with fly rod in tow. I am also an avid big game and bird hunter. Hunting principally with traditional archery equipment, I have been fortunate enough to harvest many species of Western big game over some thirty years of bowhunting in Montana and Canada. Montana is a bird hunter’s paradise, and through the years, I have taken advantage of this marvelous resource as much as time has allowed. With a twenty-eight or sixteen gauge over my shoulder, I have walked countless miles, over a lot of Montana real estate in pursuit of Hungarian partridge, blue, ruffed and sharptail grouse, pheasants and waterfowl.
A graduate of Montana State University with a degree in Political Science, I have been in the real estate business for over twenty years. Having been a partner/owner in another Bozeman-based farm and ranch brokerage firm since 1992, I decided to form my own company in 2007 – Western Ranch Properties – with the idea of dealing exclusively in the best recreational land opportunities available. |

I have concentrated primarily on premium fishing and hunting properties since the first day I was licensed to sell real estate, and have managed to sell many tremendous sporting ranches over the years. A good deal of the buyers I have worked with have held strong conservation ethics, and have spent considerable effort and financial resources, to further enhance their properties for wildlife. Several have also chosen to do their part in protecting the integrity of the Montana landscape by placing their properties in Conservation Easements. My clients and customers are typically very serious and passionate about wild, unspoiled places and the sporting life – something that I can relate to very well.
I am a member of Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, National Rifle Association, and a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. I also belong to the Gallatin Association of Realtors, Montana Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. |
